Q. I have not made ticket reservation in advance. Can I purchase a ticket in the park on the day of the visit?

Advanced reservation specific to the date of entry is required without exceptions and tickets are not available for purchase in the park.

Q. Why do I need to make ticket reservation in advance?

In order to ensure that all visitors to Ghibli Park can relax and fully enjoy their experience. However, you are welcome to visit Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park where you can enjoy some Ghibli-themed places without a ticket. For more information, please check the Ghibli in the Park page.

Q. Do I need to enter Ghibli Park at a specific time?

For those of you who have Ghibli Park O-Sanpo Day Pass or Ghibli Park O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium:
Ghibli's Grand Warehouse is the only area with assigned entry times. Please enter Ghibli's Grand Warehouse within one hour from your reservation time. You can't enter the park early or once your assigned window of time has passed.
The other four areas do not have specified entry times, although you are required to queue when other visitors are waiting. Additionally, final entry to all four areas is at 4:30 p.m. Please enter with all members of your party by 4:30 p.m.
Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest are expected to be very crowded after 4:00 p.m. until closing time (5:00 p.m.). We recommend visiting these areas in the morning or early afternoon.
Regarding exit time, you may stay as long as you wish until 5:00 p.m.

*Different rules apply for Ghibli Park Light Sanpo Pass (only available for domestic purchase). If you have a Ghibli Park Light Sanpo Pass, please read rules on the domestic ticket page.

Q. Can I change or cancel my tickets?

You cannot change or cancel your tickets after purchase.
If Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park is closed due to weather or other circumstances, we will consider our refund policies and announce the response on our official website.

For customers with e-tickets, please ensure you have enough battery on your cell phone, smart phone, or other device in order to show your tickets upon entry.

Q. If I am not able to go, can I give my ticket to a friend or a family member?

Tickets are non-transferable. The person whose name is on the tickets must be present, or the tickets are not valid.

Q. Do I need to show ID upon entry?

The person whose name is on the tickets may be required to present ID upon entry. Please bring valid identification such as driver's license, insurance card, passport, or My Number Card. All members of the party should enter with the person whose name is on the tickets.

Q. If I leave the park area for which I have a ticket, may I enter again later?

Re-entry is not permitted except for Valley of Witches.

Ghibli Park Policy

For the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all visitors, please read the following before your visit to Ghibli Park.

Attention: All media filming, photography, interviews and meetings are by advanced appointment only regardless of ticket reservations. We do not allow media or media related activity during park operating hours.

Q. Can I take pictures or videos inside Ghibli Park?

Live-streaming, live-broadcasting and taking videos for an extended period of time in the presence of other visitors is prohibited. You can take pictures and videos for personal use at some places which are not restricted, but commercial use is prohibited.

For the safety of our guests, we ask that you refrain from the use of camera stands, tripods and/or selfie sticks. You may use a compact, hand-held model (that does not extend) as long as it does not go over the height of your head and it is in your hand.

Q. Can I bring food into Ghibli Park?

Inside the Ghibli Park area, you may only eat food purchased inside Ghibli Park. Please refer to Food page for more information.
Please drink any beverages outdoors or outside the exhibition rooms in the plazas or walkways. We request that you ensure your bottle caps/lids are tightly secured inside the exhibition rooms.
Outside the Ghibli Park area there are park lawns, benches and various resting spots where you can eat the food you bring.

Food items available within Ghibli Park are labeled in accordance with Japanese food allergen labeling regulations. We may not be able to respond to every request, however, so for those with religious or allergy related dietary restrictions we recommend bringing your own food.

Please take your trash home with you.

Q. Is there a place I can store my belongings?

Ghibli Park does not provide storage services. Large bags and suitcases are not allowed. In Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park, there are lockers in North Gate Information Center (located close to Linimo station) and West Gate Information Center and Lounge. *The number of lockers is limited.
Some of the exhibition areas within Ghibli Park are narrow. Out of consideration of other visitors and to avoid hindering park operations, we recommend that storage arrangements are secured at your hotel, for example, before you arrive at the park.

Q. Are credit cards or electronic payment accepted within Ghibli Park?

Q. Am I allowed to enter Ghibli Park with a pet?

Pets are not allowed. Guide dogs, hearing dogs and service dogs may enter the park.

Q. Are there any other restrictions within Ghibli Park I should know about?

Ghibli Park is not responsible for accidents due to customer negligence inside the park. Possession of hazardous materials, disrupting other visitors, and/or behavior that hinders business operations is strictly prohibited. Please refrain from using your cell phone where it will disturb other visitors. Smoking is prohibited throughout the park.

Q. Are there any age restrictions on facilities or activities?

Some facilities and activities are limited to children of 12 years and under including the following:
Cat Bus in the Cat Bus Room, Children's Town (Ghibli's Grand Warehouse)
*Adults accompanying children of 12 years or under may also enter Children's Town.
Dondoko-do (Dondoko Forest)
Lord Okkoto (Mononoke Village)
Flying Machine (Valley of Witches)
*Adults accompanying children of 12 years or under may also ride the Flying Machine.

Charcoal Grilled Gohei-mochi Cooking Experience is limited to 10 years and above.
*Children of 9 years and under may enter Tatara-ba, but cannot participate in the hands-on experience.
Children of 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult during the hands-on experience.

General Information about the Park

Q. Are there any activities or rides that require fees in addition to ticket price?

Separate fees are required for the following activities and rides:
Charcoal Grilled Gohei-mochi Cooking Experience (Mononoke Village)
Carousel and Flying Machine (Valley of Witches)

Q. Are there any facilities or activities that may be closed in the event of rain?

Some facilities and activities may not be available for use in the event of rain including the following:
Lord Okkoto (Mononoke Village)
The walking trail in Dondoko Forest
Carousel and Flying Machine (Valley of Witches)

In case of inclement weather, the park may close without prior notice.

Q. What should I wear to Ghibli Park?

Ghibli Park is located within Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park. Please consider seasonal temperatures when preparing what to bring and what to wear during your visit, in addition to good walking shoes. We recommend that you check the local weather forecast (Aichi-ken, Nagakute City area) for current updates.

Summer (May through the middle of October): In order to avoid heat stroke we suggest our guests bring plenty of water (in a bottle with a cap), hats or other sun protection, and clothes with breathable fabric that will help you stay cool. There are many extremely hot days over the course of the summer and it may be difficult to find shade in some of the Ghibli Park areas. For protection from the sun and insects, we recommend long sleeves. Additionally, there is a possibility of torrential downpour, typhoon or other sudden weather changes.

Winter: Temperatures may fall below 0℃, and it may snow. Please dress in plenty of warm layers.

Accessibility

Q. Are there convenient facilities or services available for visitors with small children?

There are diaper changing stations located within each area of Ghibli Park.
There is a nursing room and baby room inside Ghibli's Grand Warehouse and Valley of Witches.

You may use your stroller when walking around Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park.
Strollers are available to borrow from North Gate Information Center, West Gate Information Center and Lounge.

With some exceptions, strollers and umbrellas are not allowed in the buildings inside Ghibli Park areas. Please use the designated parking areas at each place. Please plan to bring a baby carrier or sling with you if necessary.

Q. May I enter Ghibli Park with my wheelchair?

It is possible to enter Ghibli Park areas by wheelchair, except for some locations.

Q. May I enter with my guide dog, hearing dog or service dog?

Guide dogs, hearing dogs and service dogs are allowed in all areas of the park including the café.

Storing Your Belongings

  • There are coin lockers at the North Gate Information Center, West Gate Information Center and Lounge.
    *The number of coin lockers is limited, so please come to the park carrying as little as possible.
  • There is a cloakroom at the North Gate Information Center.

Borrowing a Park Wheelchair or Stroller

  • Park wheelchairs and strollers are available to borrow from the North Gate Information Center, West Gate Information Center and Lounge.
    *Ostomate equipment, assistance beds and diaper changing tables are available at Information Center restrooms as well.
