This area is inspired by Studio Ghibli's witch-related films such as Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle and Earwig and the Witch. In the European-style townscape, there are buildings that appear in the films such as Guchokipanya Bakery, Howl's Castle and The House of Witches as well as Carousel and Flying Machine inspired by Studio Ghibli films. Being immersed in the magic all around you, will make you want to soar through the sky like a witch.

The Mouth of Witch

In front of the entrance gate of Valley of Witches, the structure inspired by the witch Bella Yaga from Earwig and the Witch will greet you with her huge mouth wide open. Coming through her mouth, you'll find a clock artwork, a slide and towers made with tiles. Close to the entrance gate, stands a gazebo with a red roof.

The Okino Residence

This is a two-story house where Kiki, the main character from Kiki's Delivery Service lives, until she leaves to train as a witch. In front of the house is a garden where flowers and grasses of each season are planted. The garage stands next to the house.
As you enter the house on the first floor, the witch's shop where Kiki's mom, Kokiri, makes medicine is on your left. There are also the drawing room, the living room, and the kitchen. On the second floor, is Kiki's room and her father's study, where he dedicates himself to his witch research. Here at The Okino Residence you can take a peek at the Okinos' daily life.

Guchokipanya Bakery

This bakery is where the main character Kiki and her black cat Jiji from Kiki's Delivery Service live. It is a building in the half-timber style, a traditional European wooden construction technique. A bread wreath, like the one that appears in the film, is displayed on the first floor of the bakery. A wide variety of breads are available for purchase. You can choose from breads to enjoy with a meal, such as Baguette and Boule, that appear in the film or breads that can be snacked-on in the park. Venturing up the staircase from the backyard, you can take a peek inside the attic where Kiki and Jiji stay.

The impressive castle (about 20 meters tall) with creature-like features from Howl's Moving Castle. Some parts of the castle move, and smoke comes out a few times an hour, making it a "moving" castle. The castle is set on wasteland, reminiscent of the film, and you will find Turnip-head waiting there.
Entering from the stairs at the front of the two-story building, you will find yourself in the dim living room. There you can discover Calcifer's furnace, the sink, the table, Sophie's room and more. On the second floor, is Howl's bedroom, Howl's wardrobe, Howl's studio, the bathroom, and Markl's room.

This is the two-story hat shop that Sophie, the main character from Howl's Moving Castle, manages. Inside, is Sophie's workshop and shops. The building features the half-timber style exterior, a traditional European wooden construction technique. Continuing through the courtyard, you can look inside the workshop where Sophie makes hats.
Hatter's Millinery, on the first floor sells original candies and hats. Upstairs from the courtyard, is a bookshop called Witches' Book Stacks, with a collection of books related to witches and magic.

This house is where Earwig, the main character from Earwig and the Witch, was taken to live. It includes Bella Yaga's workshop, Earwig's bedroom and more.
Bella Yaga's workshop holds a mysterious atmosphere and magic ingredients. In Earwig's bedroom, you will see her bed and other furniture. What secret will you discover through the tiny hole in the room? The house also contains the library, the bathroom, and the kitchen.

This is a ride for children imagined as one from a traveling fair that comes to the village once a year. It is decorated with vehicles, animals, characters and other images from Studio Ghibli's films such as Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke and more. On the roof, there is an ornament of Howl and Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle. A special arrangement of Merry Go-Round of Life from the soundtrack of Howl's Moving Castle is played during the ride.

■ Age Requirement: 3 years and above (2 years and under free)

■ Fee: Children aged 3-12: 500 yen, Adults: 1000 yen, Children aged 2 and under: Free

■ Maximum Allowance: 35 people (28 units)

■ Caution and Restrictions

  • *Children 6 years and under must be accompanied by someone 16 years or above. If the person accompanying the child will also sit, they must purchase a ticket. (If not, the person can accompany the child without a ticket.)
  • *Eating, drinking, taking photos and/or videos on all rides is strictly prohibited.
  • *Anyone riding with a child 2 years and under must sit in box seat (bench seat).
  • *Children may not ride on a lap.
  • *For safety, there are seats that children under 120cm may not ride alone.
  • *The following persons may not ride:
    Visitors who have been drinking, those with a heart condition, pregnant persons, those with high or low blood pressure, anyone not feeling well, and/or persons with other symptoms that may worsen by the ride. If you feel you may become off-balance during the ride, please refrain from riding.
  • *Please hold the safety bar for the duration of the ride.
  • *Please do not shake the seat, stand up, or get down from your seat while the ride is in motion.
  • *Please do not leave your seat until the ride comes to a complete stop and the staff directs you to get off.
  • *Please follow capacity guidelines.
  • *We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items, and we are not responsible for any accidents or injuries that occur due to carelessness or not following the rules.
  • *For your safety, please listen to the staff.

This is a ride for children imagined as one from a traveling fair that comes to the village once a year. It is located next to Tower of Aviators. The ride is inspired by the world of Castle in the Sky, and Laputa and Tiger Moth are found in the center.

■ Age Requirement: 3 to 12 years old
*Only adults accompanying children can ride (1 adult per child).

■ Fee: 500 yen

■ Maximum Allowance: 16 people (8 units)

■ Caution and Restrictions

  • *Children aged 7 or older and 120cm and above may ride alone.
  • *Children aged 3 or older and under 120cm must be accompanied by someone 13 years or older (ticket required).
  • *Eating, drinking, taking photos and/or videos on all rides is strictly prohibited.
  • *Weight limit for one unit is 125kg.
  • *The following persons may not ride:
    -Children aged 2 and under
    -Anyone under 90cm (included children 3 years or older)
    -Anyone under 120cm who are not accompanied by someone 13 years of age or older
    -Visitors who have been drinking, those with a heart condition, pregnant persons, those with high or low blood pressure, visitors with spine problems, anyone not feeling well, and/or persons with other symptoms that may worsen by the ride. If you feel you may become off balance during the ride, please refrain from riding.
    -Anyone who cannot wear the safety belt

This house is a play area for kids who admire soaring through the sky like Pazu from Castle in the Sky, and Tombo from Kiki's Delivery Service. Looking up, you will find an ornithopter, an aircraft that flies by flapping its wings. Also, children can climb from the first floor to the second floor like in a playground.

*Only children 12 years and under can go up from the first floor to the second floor.

Avenue of Ruins has paths surrounded by stone walls where you will feel the remnants of an ancient village. Nearby, an ancient well remains, and the wasteland spreads.
Three bells on the Clock Tower, with eye-catching decorations of two witches on flying brooms, report the time throughout the Valley of Witches.
You can enjoy the view of Howl's Castle from the top of the Clock Tower.

Fountain

In the round plaza constructed with stone, you will find a fountain from which water shoots out. There are benches on the adjacent deck where you can sit and rest.

*Please be aware that water from the fountain may spray the plaza surrounding the fountain.

Lift for Witches

Located between Guchokipanya Bakery and Hatter's Millinery, this elevator goes up to the second floor of Guchokipanya Bakery (the attic) and Hatter's Millinery (Witches' Book Stacks).

*Those with wheelchairs and strollers have priority.

This full-service restaurant with an impressive brick exterior is located near the entrance to the Valley of Witches, by Tsutsuji Pond. In addition to hearty baked dishes such as European-style pies and quiches, the restaurant offers a variety of slightly mysterious dishes and desserts typical of the Valley of Witches. On the second floor of the restaurant is a rooftop garden.

This yellow hot dog stand with a neon sign of a cat on a rampage will surely catch your eye. The stand sells a giant, piping hot sausage, sandwiched between a cat-shaped bun as well as French fries, Valley of Witches Beer (Pale Ale/Hime White) and other drinks.
